Porch Lights and Open Doors: What We Learned in Year Three at Bledsoe
It’s never just a roof. It’s the morning text checking if someone has gas money for work, and the kitchen table where the hard conversations finally happen.

Three years in, the house on Bledsoe Street has stopped being a building we own and started being an address people give out.
A roof is the easy part. What actually holds is the morning text asking whether there’s gas money to get to a 6 AM shift, the spare phone charger in the hall drawer, the standing Thursday dinner that nobody has to RSVP to.
Year three taught us that the porch light matters more than the paperwork. People come back to a place where somebody noticed they were gone.
